Double Major and Certificate Programs

In Boğaziçi University, undergraduate students registered in one department can also pursue the program of another department. This is called the “Double Major” program. Undergraduate students with a GPA of 3.20 or above who have successfully completed all of their courses can apply for the Double Major program right after their second, third or fourth semesters. Students who graduate having successfully completed the Double Major program are granted two undergraduate degrees. The Department of Turkish Language and Literature offers three double major programs: one with the Department of Western Languages and Literatures, one with the Department of History and one with the Department of Linguistics. A student admitted to a double major program follows a separate course schedule designed by the relevant departments together. You can contact your advisors for more information about the Double Major program.

To complete the application form, you need to obtain approval from your own department's double major program advisor, department chair, and the double major program advisor of the department you are applying to. To obtain this approval via email, you should send your application form and your current transcript showing all your grades. Once your application is accepted by the faculty council, you need to fill out the “Undergraduate Double Major Program Declaration Form” and send it to the Faculty Officers at The Registrar's Office.
